Persona 4 R Log
Why am I here? I haven't journaled in a while, so.. that's pretty much it.
Right now I'm playing Persona 4 Royal, on the Switch. Persona 3 made me feel things, and I -usually- don't get a lot of emotions out of video games (FF6 not withstanding) so why not document them so I can present them to my shrink later? (that's a joke people)
Anyway, so I'm in Chapter 1 and, knowing what I know about the game and setting, I know the foggy area is supposed to be an old CRT TV. It presents it very well, but a quick search shows P4 was released in 2008, the year that Flatscreens started to edge out but not completely yet overwhelm CRT. I wonder how many people who play the re-release will know what a CRT is? How will they handle it in the remaster?
So we have.. CRTs.
"Life-journals and my-places"
OLD student desks.
blackboards with chalk are those even still a thing in rural Japan?
Anyway I'm heading out for the day so I'll do this again with P4 and as I burn through the Origins manga. I'm now living on borrowed time with those. :D

Blackboards
I know you said "2008," so that's well within the realm of "when the original game existed," but I definitely had blackboards in 2006, still. I'd be very surprised if O'Connell ever upgraded their blackboard setup.
As for rural Japan, I couldn't really say. The school I did my homestay at in 2006 was very modern compared to Galveston's antiquated little religious school.
I bet there are still a few in the boonies, though. Not everywhere is a big city, in every country. Although I suppose it is true that most of them probably spend proportionally more money per taxpayer on public education than we in America do.
Anyway, long live the blackboard!! There's something a little sad about whiteboards, when the ink in the felt markers runs out. Chalk, you can see it coming. The markers are a mystery, and seem to die suddenly overnight. This is my daily bit of nostalgic propaganda.

"Why am I here"
Did you come here to laugh at me?
Post moar, Moreno. (I mean, don't let me tell you what to do, but I'm lonely on this platform.)
